WHY ECHO
The Battery Module That Refuses to Fail

Every AEGIS Shield system is built on the ECHO series battery module — engineered in-house by AEGISESS using Hithium 314Ah prismatic LiFePO4 cells. This is not a white-label product pulled from a catalog. It is the result of 40+ years of field experience, 4,000+ installations, and the hard lessons learned from a $3M supply chain fraud that nearly destroyed the company.

In 2021–2022, counterfeit CATL cells flooded the battery storage market. SunFusion — the predecessor to AEGISESS — absorbed over $3 million in direct costs replacing every affected system. While competitors denied the problem, blamed customers, or quietly disappeared, we analyzed every failure, redesigned the platform from the ground up, and launched the ECHO 3.0 with a singular obsession: zero field failures. We achieved it. Since 2023, the ECHO 3.0 has maintained a 0% failure rate in active deployments.

The industry average failure rate for residential battery modules ranges from 30% to 60%. One major competitor hit 100% and went bankrupt. AEGISESS operates below 9% lifetime across all generations — and 0% on the current ECHO 3.0 platform.

CELL CHEMISTRY
LiFePO4 — Lithium Iron Phosphate. Not NMC, not NCA, not cobalt-based. LiFePO4 cannot thermally run away under normal abuse conditions. The thermal runaway onset is 251°C — over 100°C higher than NMC chemistry used by most competitors. No fire. No explosion. No cobalt mining. This is the safest lithium chemistry commercially available, and it is the only chemistry AEGISESS will ever use.
CELL SUPPLIER
Hithium — not generic, not counterfeit, not recycled. Every cell is a Hithium LFP71173207 314Ah prismatic, sourced directly from Hithium's automated production lines (ISO 9001). Ultra-low internal resistance (0.20 mΩ), 175+ Wh/kg energy density, and verified capacity at every temperature from -30°C to +60°C. We test every incoming shipment. We trace every serial number. We never trust a middleman again.
CYCLE LIFE
16,000+ cycles to 80% depth of discharge. Most competitors spec 3,000–6,000 cycles. That means an ECHO module outlasts the competition 3–5 times over. At one cycle per day, 16,000 cycles is 43 years of service life. The battery will outlive the house. This is why AEGISESS offers a 25-year warranty — because the cells can back it up.
FOUR-LAYER FIRE PROTECTION
Cell → Module → Enclosure → BMS. Layer 1: LiFePO4 cell stability (251°C onset). Layer 2: Module-level containment (UL 9540A tested). Layer 3: American-made 5052 H32 aerospace aluminum enclosure (melts at 1,200°F — 700°F above thermal runaway). Layer 4: Real-time BMS with 28+ minute early warning before any thermal event. No other residential battery offers four independent layers of fire protection.
MONITORING
5–25 second cell-level polling with military-grade encryption. AEGISESS is the only company that monitors every individual cell in real time, every 5 to 25 seconds, with encrypted telemetry from the AEGIS Sentinel hardware monitor. Competitors check battery health once per minute at best — and most only monitor at the module level. We see problems before they become problems.
MADE IN AMERICA
Every enclosure, every battery box — American-made. All AEGIS Shield enclosures are fabricated from 5052 H32 aerospace-grade aluminum, cut, bent, welded, and finished in the United States. The monitoring hardware (AEGIS Sentinel) is designed and assembled domestically. The software is written in-house. No white-label. No contract manufacturer. No outsourced quality control.
